When it comes to enjoying the perfect evening out, the right mix of great food, a lively atmosphere, and stunning views is essential. My recent visit to Hotel Bourre Bonne—a new hotel and steakhouse in Louisville—proved that this combination can create a memorable experience. Known for its rooftop bar and carefully crafted cocktails, this new hotel-restaurant certainly lives up to the hype.
The atmosphere at Hotel Bourre Bonne is sophisticated and thoughtfully designed to appeal to both locals wanting a stunning night out and visitors wanting the best Louisville has to offer.

Let's Talk About the Vibe
I can't say with 100% confidence that there is a set dress code, but everyone there understood the assignment. If you are going to Hotel Bourre Bonne, you want to dress to impress. Everything from the Gucci-themed booth to the luxury items gift shop screamed sophisticated.
Upon entering Hotel Bourre Bonne, guests are met with exceptional service. Whether you are going to stay at the hotel, enjoy an outstanding steak dinner, or spend the night on the rooftop, you can expect the utmost attention from the staff.
In my opinion, the restaurant gave more classy vibes, but the rooftop is where you can let loose. Choose one to go to or start classy and let loose after dinner.
Rooftop Bar: The Best View of Louisville
The rooftop bar at Hotel Bourre Bonne is a true treasure. With breathtaking views of the Louisville skyline, it's easy to see why it attracts so many visitors. It is incredibly spacious with indoor and outdoor seating, 2 bars, a pool with cabanas, and a hot tub. The outdoor seating features firepits at each booth that could fit 10 people comfortably.
We were so kindly escorted up to the rooftop after dinner and enjoyed one more cocktail to finish off the night. It's always an espresso martini for me and an old-fashioned for Sam. I do want to say the espresso martini tasted like a dessert! One of the best I've tried!
I could see the rooftop being the "main" attraction. If you are looking for a lighter dinner or just snacks and drinks, you could skip the restaurant completely and enjoy a night on the rooftop with their "small bites" and drink menu.
I also learned you can get a membership for the pool! No need to rent a room to enjoy the rooftop pool and view. If you are a local, I highly recommend looking into getting a membership and enjoying the stunning atmosphere.

Adding to the overall experience, we enjoyed live music. They often have live music or a DJ to really bring the rooftop to life. You can check everything out on their website or socials to see what music will be playing on which nights.
The Steakhouse Experience
Before we even made it to the rooftop, our minds were blown away by dinner! The steakhouse menu features a selection of prime cuts, all expertly seasoned and cooked to perfection.
We started with the croissant loaf as an appetizer. The bread was very similar to Repeal's if you're familiar, but the butter Hotel Bourre Bonne uses made it top notch! Sam and I then split a wedge salad and the Lobster Bisque.
For the main event, we chose to split the tomahawk. When it arrived, they added a melted garlic butter. It was cooked to perfection. On the side, we got a twice-baked potato that was possibly the best potato I've ever had, and Sam got their popular millionaire mac.
As we enjoyed our meal, it was evident how much care went into each dish served around us. Various patrons delighted in their meals, all of which looked equally enticing. Especially the oysters that were delivered to the table next to us.
Sweet Endings
No dining experience feels complete without dessert. The dessert menu at Hotel Bourre Bonne offers a variety of rich options, but the smoked s'mores and peach cobbler cheesecake quickly caught our eye. Sam loves a good cheesecake, and our server was honest with us and told us ahead of time that it was a bit too small to share. That's why I went with the s'mores, and it really tasted like it was roasted right over a campfire, perfectly placed on a brownie, and had a side of graham crackers.
A Night to Remember
A visit to Hotel Bourre Bonne offers an ideal blend of delicious food, expertly crafted cocktails, and a breathtaking rooftop setting in Louisville. Whether you're planning a romantic dinner, celebrating something big, or simply looking to unwind with friends, this stands out among typical Louisville restaurants.
Should you find yourself in Louisville, make sure to stop by Hotel Bourre Bonne. Prepare for an unforgettable experience filled with tender steaks, refreshing cocktails, and moments to cherish under the stars.

After our visit to Hotel Bourre Bonne, I couldn't help but start planning my next outing even before leaving. This spot is rapidly becoming a rising star in Louisville's dining scene, worthy of a spot on everyone’s list. My next visit, though, might be more pool-focused.
